At Maracas beach.....and there's only one bar on Ariapita Ave. that will let you dance on the counters!

The day in the life of a flight attendant

When I grow up. I want to be a flight attendant. Hmmm...

Once a year, every year, you will have to do recurrent training.

Then you get to sit here.

And this is where you will work.

Your job will be to do this...

                                                                                              And this...

For the passenger to see this.

This post is one which only flight attendants could understand.

It take's a certain type of person to do this job.
Hours are long, you miss all important family events,
you work on all public holidays and you operate on
minimum rest.

I hope this puts a smile on someone face :)

travel plans with friends

Traveling as a Group.

So, you and your friends want to plan a trip together.
My advice...go for it!!!
Its a really great experience traveling, its even better with people that you like :)

You already know each other likes and dislikes...
Exploring new places creates an even stronger bond.

And there is a unique thing that happens.
You intuition is heighten. This is a good thing.
In reality...you must always have your wits about you.

Yes. It may sometimes cause a difference in opinions.
But trust me, sometimes your friends pick up on things faster than you.
Remember, a strange city, different people, surroundings which are not
familiar..."it's always good to have some looking out for you."

Those are the friends that will my your vacation experience truly memorable.

Entertain yourself

Have fun all  by yourself.

There is nothing better than watching what you want.

Listening to the music you like.

All you have to do... is wait after take-off and the SEAT belt sign is switched OFF.

And remember to switch OFF before landing :)

Oh and remember to pack your charger...

Walk with your food

Food on flights.

The truth is most of us are not millionaires.
We may never see this...

Years ago economy/coach had this...

With low cost carriers it dwindled to...

And today you are luck to get...

Please, please, please...
Do not depend on the airline to feed you.

Do yourself a favour, after you have cleared security and you are waiting at your gate.
Pop in one of the food spots and buy something that will hold you over until you
get to your final destination.

I promise you, you will be glad you did.

Vacation and Health

Ouch...is this going to hurt?

So you are all set, then the night before your vacation you get the flu !

No one likes needles but it is necessary...

You don't want to spend your vacation in bed :(

Can Vacations Bring Couples Closer Together.

Vacations help relationships grow. 3 quick points.

Before I go any further, I make my disclaimer; I am not a relationship expert.

What I will say is that; no two relationships are similar. In today’s modern society, everyone has their own definitions of what they consider a relationship to be.

These are my “suggestions” and nothing more.

1. Vacations introduce new elements; such as cultures, foods, lifestyles and generally expands your thinking and the way you view the world. Sharing this growth experience with your partner tends to bring couples closer.

2.  Vacations affect your mood; usually in a positive way.  On a vacation your physical environment and daily routine is different. There is a shift in dynamics. You view your partner differently in a new setting. You experience things together and create moments that you both can reminisce about when you return home.

3. Vacations encourage “thinking about the other person.” In everyday life, couples tend to take one another and their relationship for granted. The same old routine becomes so entrenched and could lead to selfish behaviours. Spending vacation time together may be a way to relight those caring feelings.

In closing, it’s just you and your partner, sometimes this realization is all that is needed. Both of you are in new surroundings while on vacation and only have each other at that present time, this is a strong factor which could strengthen the relationship bond.

                                                                                                                                  Happy travels!

What should I pack ?

What are you packing?

K. its not going to close.

I have been asked this question many...many times.

This post is going to have lots of pics.

Because, as the saying goes...
A photo is worth a thousand words
... so here we go !

Yes a towel, all hotels have them, but many hotels use industry grade laundry detergents that can have reactions to certain skin types. I learnt that lesson the hard way :(

I am a sleeper, so my PJ's are a necessity. It's a rule, not matter what time of the day or night that I check into my hotel room, I must take a nap. Flying takes a lot out of your body. So, be kind to yourself and shut down for a few minutes.

Socks, Underwear and Vests: 3 to 4 of each.

Ok, let's identify what we are looking at in the photo above:

1. A sensible pair of jeans, you only need ONE pair.
2. One practical jacket/coat.
3. One comfortable pair of shoes and one belt.
4. Two shirts
5. One scarf
6. One pair of glove.

This particular list is clearly for colder weather destinations.

A nice trio to have :)

Again, all hotels have alarm clocks and most have a wake-up call request. But sometimes "Murphy's Law" likes to have some fun with you aka be prepared.

Toiletries are a given, please don't go overboard. Its a vacation, you will be back home before you know it.

Lastly, toss a bottle of water in your checked luggage, try this the next time you get into your hotel room. I promise you, you are going to finish that bottle.

Fact: Flying dehydrates you.

Oh and one more thing. while you are relaxing in your hotel room, you may want to throw in a pair of slippers.

One pair is all you need.

And for warmer destination.

Add a pair of casual short pants

Two to three T-shirts for the most.

and your swimwear & sunglasses !

Now close the suitcase, you are done with packing...
