What are you packing?
K. its not going to close.
I have been asked this question many...many times.
This post is going to have lots of pics.
Because, as the saying goes...
A photo is worth a thousand words
... so here we go !
Yes a towel, all hotels have them, but many hotels use industry grade laundry detergents that can have reactions to certain skin types. I learnt that lesson the hard way :(
I am a sleeper, so my PJ's are a necessity. It's a rule, not matter what time of the day or night that I check into my hotel room, I must take a nap. Flying takes a lot out of your body. So, be kind to yourself and shut down for a few minutes.
Socks, Underwear and Vests: 3 to 4 of each.
Ok, let's identify what we are looking at in the photo above:
1. A sensible pair of jeans, you only need ONE pair.
2. One practical jacket/coat.
3. One comfortable pair of shoes and one belt.
4. Two shirts
5. One scarf
6. One pair of glove.
This particular list is clearly for colder weather destinations.
Again, all hotels have alarm clocks and most have a wake-up call request. But sometimes "Murphy's Law" likes to have some fun with you aka be prepared.
Toiletries are a given, please don't go overboard. Its a vacation, you will be back home before you know it.
Lastly, toss a bottle of water in your checked luggage, try this the next time you get into your hotel room. I promise you, you are going to finish that bottle.
Fact: Flying dehydrates you.
Oh and one more thing. while you are relaxing in your hotel room, you may want to throw in a pair of slippers.
One pair is all you need.
And for warmer destination.
Add a pair of casual short pants
Two to three T-shirts for the most.
and your swimwear & sunglasses !
Now close the suitcase, you are done with packing...
